Dear Friend at home

[?] to inform you that i am well
at present and hope when these few lines
reach you they may find you all injoying
good health. I got down here on Sunday
evening about dark. I tell you what i was cold.
I [stoped?] at [...ders?] and got the old mare
fed and then jogged heartly on. I have tonight
[?] three days and [?] if [?] well when
I went tot he school house on monday morning
there wasnt anything to make a fire with there
and then i went to the store and the old fellow
there [?] me to press a team and go to [?]
for a load of coal but there was no chance
of that on Monday and so i waited till the
next day and tool [Phila?] team and [sled?]
and got an old [?] [with?] [?] and [?]
went along and away we went and got [nine?]
Bushels that all the old box would [hold?]
at twenty five to a bushel. I had to pay for it out
of my own pocket but it wont last more than
this week and i guess i'll come home on next
