My Dear Elizabeth
It
was my intention to write a long letter
to you but I find I have not enough
time, & be [?] of the mail. The climate
is about as healthy here as it is
any where I think. At
any rate beggars cannot be the
choosers in these times. Becca is
well. [that?] is tolerably. How
is your health. Do not [.....uple]
about the enclosed. It is an
account. I do not need it. Things
are gloomy here enough, but not
beyond what was to be expected after
such a convulsion. Give my love
to Cousin Frances & believe me to
remain
