Nice day altho' it clouded up

in after-noon.  I was up wesrly ,made

fruit salad, dressing for dole-slaw

& set table.  put rib-roast of beef in

oven at 10-45, pared potatoes, put

them in at 12 & carrots.  put corn on

& had dinner ready at 1.  Dad at Church

& Bud - [L or Damy] brought pretty cake

over she had made for Ethel, 28 

candles lighted.  Bob brought me

fresh straw-berry & vanilla.  Roast

very good.  little boys played

out awhile after.  Ma. J. seemed

pleased to come.  Mama not too

good but think it did her good

too.  I will have to see Dr.  tho'

she is short of breath
