<html>29" Beautiful weather for past two
      days & enjoyable.
Many of boys out for pleasure
      ride, [?] I [didn't?] [care?] for it.
About all talk one hears now
      is relative to leaving time.
Have missed very few days in
      writing to Ditty.
30" Saw Charlie Chaplin & had a
      good laugh.  Another long day
      finally passed.  This anxiety about
leaving begins to [fall] on everyone
      Had our Muster to-day Whole
      headquarters. [...] turned out
      in full equiment.  Quite im-
      posing sight.  Impresses one
      much more that we're in
real war.  Still shy of some
      ordnance equipment which
holds us back.  {Shai..?], [Ketz?] to
      town.
31" Personal Report in, pay-voucher
      goes to Bank of C'water.
      Big doings in Chattanooga cel-
      ebrating Halloween.

                                 November 1917
1-5
      Duties light & time hanging
      heavily on hands.  Col. said
      Today that barring things
      unforseen we should start
      To [get] out Tuesday P.M.
I to go with Col. [Herring..][...]
in 1" section.  Whole outfit taking
4 secs. Looks to me as if impossible
to get started Tuesday as all outfits
      not completed. Uncertainty keeps me
      unsettled, anxiety makes me restless.
6-11.
        Idea of leaving Tuesday a
myth and even a week from
        [there] seems very improbable
        Ordnance property not com
        -ing in holds us.
        Col. said "The minute that
Ord. gets in I'm going to
wire that we are ready &
we should get out in 4-8
        hrs
        One more listless week gone.
18- 1" Lts. [...] until Sat. for [France]
