Wind NE Cloudy and very like it would snow.
Hauled & Ricked stalks. Got Wood. Finished Chimney
and crammed Marthas house.

Friday 9

Wind NE. Snowed last night and until 12 O.clk today.
Got Wood. Maria went to Mr Sinclair & Sister Anns in Evg

Saturday 10

Wind E Clear in M.g. Rained from 12 O,clock till late at night.
Cut down hauled and ricked stalks. I went to Court House
but no Mail came. The Yankees went up York River Thursday in Seven
Steamers, landed Cavalry in King William who committed all kinds
of depredations on the People. Burnt the Depot & some Vessels & cars at the
White House, and tis said injured to Rail Road there. Sister Ann and
Martha Page dined here.

Sunday 11

Wind SW Clear. We staid at home. Mr Curtis dined here.
My sorrel Mare’s left hind leg is swoolen and she is very lame.

Monday 12

Wind SE Clear. Raking woods litter & hauling it ot Farm Pen
in two Ox Carts & Tumbrel. Hauling Manure in garden.

Tuesday 13

Wind SE Clear. Cutting hauling & Ricking stalks. Manuring Garden
Younger & Joshua repairing bridge in lane. Maria & Daughter went to Belle Farm
Got a sackof salt of Ed Philips for Mr Curtis for 4 Bbls flour, & 2 Bushels from myself
of Tom Philips for $15 N Carolina Money, & 32 1/2 lbs Bro Sugar & 4 lbs Coffee for a Bbl Flour of
Ed Philips
