Wednesday 25th
Wind NE Cloudy & clear alternately. Ploughing tho it is
too wet but am compelled to do it. 25 March & No Oats sowed
and no corn land broken up. Mauling Rails & Cutting tops
into wood. Sister Ann & Miss Ann Mann dined here.
Thursday 26th
Wind NW cloudy & clear alternately. Ploughing One Plough
Mauling Rails & cutting up Tree Tops. Women cleaning the yard
Friday 27
Wind W in Mg E evg Clear. Ploughing One Plough
Mauling Rails & cutting up Tree Tops into wood. Maria &
the children spent the day at Wilsons Creek. I have been very
unwell for the past three or four days. Mr Hopkins arrived in
Evening. Two Yankee Gun Boats up the river Today
Saturday 28
Wind SW. Cloudy, & began to Rain about 12 O,clk & rained
hard the balance of the day. Began to plough & do other things
but had soon to stop. I went to [let?] house & had to come home
through the rain. I expect it will make me very sick
An Old Man attempting to run “The Blockade” had his Boart & Goods
taken by a Gun boat which laid in the Rive all night
Sunday 29
Wind NW clear & cold. We staid at home. I rode
to Mr Sinclair’s in mg.
Monday 30
Wind E clear & cold. Cut & hauled wood. Wallace & James went to the
Yankees this mg. Mr Curtis dined here, [&?] Sinclair here in Evg.

E & SE Rained
all last night & nearly all day
to,day Hands did nothing.
