Shuddemagen, on Jly. 3<br />for Biarritz  going via Paris,<br />arriving there about 6 P.M.  I<br />with a good dose of Influenza<br />but kept going.  Stopped at small<br />hotel in old student quarter<br />& saw as much of the interesting<br />part of the city as was open to<br />the public.  Early next A.M.<br />began our tour & visited many <br />places.  Luxemburg Gardens,<br />Louve, Kings Palace, Queens<br />Palace. army Museum Opera<br />[...?] Champs Elysee,Eifel<br />Tower, bridges over Seine.<br />Place des Invalides, +c To see<br />a musical comedy night of 3"<br />The 4" was a big day. US<br />flags flying everywhere & a<br />parade of about 5000 Amer.<br />troops with other Allies.  Magnif-<br />icdnt spectacle.<br />Left the night of 4th arriving<br />Bordeaux next A.M. where we<br />apent 8 hrs. seeing the city.<br /><br /> </html> |
