AUGUST 16  !√!

     The Victory Celebration and holiday

continue as I pass happily out of my

teens and nonchalantly become 20 !!

This birthday hasn’t been a hysterically

gay one, but it’s the nicest of the 20

because it came as part of the

War’s End.  My presents are wonderful: -

lush black pocketbook, smooth long

black suede gloves; darling red & white

lounging pajamas; other pj’s; records

(“Porgy & Bess” and “Up in Central Park”

albums); ash tray; tarnish proof

box for my silver; and my great

grandmother’s locket.  (“I’m just a spoiled

brat”) – gladiolas from Floyd.

Nana was here awhile, and I spent

most of the day polishing all my silver

to put in my box (hope chest stuff).

We went to the hospital and saw Dad

walk a few steps -- sat around eating

birthday cake with internes.  Fun!

Brought Chinese food home – Elaine calld.
