Today as been officially pre-
claimed V-J Day by Truman; and
it’s a terrific feeling to have all
those years of Hell a thing of the
past. Of course, for real celebration
purposes the people declared their
own V-J Day over two weeks ago –
and this is rather anticlimatic --
but still its’s wonderful.
Mother, Lizzie and I went into the
Roxy to see the technicolor “State
Fair.” It was really wonderful: - the
easy going sort of thing that makes
you feel good all over. The Rodgers-
Hammerstein music was especially
terrific. – We had lunch at the
Shanghai Royal -- and then over
to the hospital.
Washed my hair tonight!
