SEPTEMBER 1

     I can’t believe that it’s September

already – this summer has gone by so

very quickly, inspite of Dad’s being in

the hospital and all.

I was lazy again until hospital

time.  After our daily visit and

supper Mother and I went to the

Paramount to see Barbara Stanwyk,

Dennis Morgan, and Sidney Greenstreet

in “Christmas in Connecticut” and

Joseph Schild Kraut in “The Cheaters.”

It was quite a good combination and

[we?] both enjoyed it a great deal.

     The Japanese surrender papers

were officially signed on the

Missouri in Tokio Bay by their

representative, Mac Arthur and

Nimitz.  It’s the real thing at

last!!
