Played hookey from the hospital
again -- and instead went into N.Y.
to see Dave Wallace of Time. He
told me to come back in September to
see more definitely about a job
then --- it looks hopeful, but I hate
to wait that long.
I went to the Newsreel Theater in
Rockefeller Center to catch up on that
sort of thing before going down to
Buchanan’s to meet Bill Boley for
lunch at the Famous Kitchen with him
and two of his colleagues. It felt
smooth eating with 3 men in these
hard days.
Relaxed around home this afternoon.
Mina came for supper and then I
went to Glory’s to help prepare for
Aud’s shower.
An old letter (May 26) from Bill
was written in a blue funk --- but good.
