Halifax 10 Nov. 1862 My dear Cousin Howdy! We - [?] [Brown?] &amp; I arrived here last night from our dear &amp; lovely &lsquo;Dixie&rsquo; - We are on our way to the active sail of the water We expect to take the steamer which leaves Boston day after tomorrow - and letters will reach me if directed to the care of Fraser, [T...holm..?] &amp; Co. - Liverpool - We left home about two month ago &ndash; the rest of the family was then in F&rsquo;Burg &ndash; they would by no means be caught again within the lines of the enemy. [Pg2] I am [?] not sure where they are. [Hence?] the [enquire.?] [direction?] on the enclosed, which pray do me the favor to foreward by the first favor- able opportunity &ndash; and also mention us in your letters to Nan.
