Comdg
Buffalo,
Colonel
The Comdg Genl
wishes you, so soon as you have
moved your trains &barges, loaded
with stores, ahead of you & in this
direction, to move your command
& the Cavalry [under?][struck-through] of Genl Jenkins, &
now temporarily commanded by you,
to Red House.
You will cause the Cavalry, in
Genl Jenkins absence to scout
towards Pt. Pleasant, [Selait?] Falls
& Ravenswood: & provide yourself with
all [?][struck-through] necessary facilities
for crossing the River at Red House
as necessity may require.
Major [Salyen?] reports today a
scouting party of the enemy three or
four hundred strong between Ripley
& Ravenswood, who are from Parkersburg,
where the enemy is reported to be
2000 strong.
