My dear Cousin

Howdy!

We - [?] [Brown?] & I arrived here last night from our dear & lovely ‘Dixie’ - We are on our way to the active sail of the water We expect to take the steamer which leaves Boston day after tomorrow - and letters will reach me if directed to the care of Fraser, [T...holm..?] & Co. - Liverpool -

We left home about two month ago – the rest of the family was then in F’Burg – they would by no means be caught again within the lines of the enemy.

I am [?] not sure where they are. [Hence?] the [enquire.?] [direction?] on the enclosed, which pray do me the favor to foreward by the first favor- able opportunity – and also mention us in your letters to Nan.
