Dear Sir
During my imprisonment in Philadelphia I was visited by and received much kindness from your neice Mrs A W Enely and subsequently when removed to Fort Lafayette corresponded with her until my return South two weeks since. Mrs Ehns not heard - word from any of you since May 1861. She is greatly distressed at the state of uncertainty - in [segard] to your fate and extremely anxious to heare from you. I learned on my arrival here that Mr Robert Bright was in the city - but his whereabouts I was never able to ascertain. I wrote him thro the Post Office and sent him a message by Captn Frank Lee but [ ] to see him. was anxious
