My dear Mr Baird Mr [Thimball?] has made a mistake in his date, but I presume [Major?] Dade will make no difficulty about it – if he does we cant help it. I am glad you have made the bargain with Capt Alsop. I wrote Mr. Hunter you were going to do it to day – and I know he will be entirely satisfied when he knows you are acting for him.
[Tuck ?] received a long and very kind letter from Eddie to day – we were all glad to hear that he would not have to go far. Sally wrote Cousin E what he

& [M..s...?] both said. I hope he will be able to come home soon again. In spite of the weather my rheumatism is much better I hope you haven’t suffered as I have done.
