Wednesday 5
Wind E & SE. Cloudy. Got Wood. Hauled Rails and
Made fence. Dr Archey Taylor & his bride & Mr Curtis
& family dined here. Dr & Mrs Taylor will stay
till Saturday. The Steamer Nashville got into
Beaufort NC. from Liverpool a few days since.

Thursday 6
Wind W mg NE Ev.g Cloudy & Rained about dark.
Cut wood. Hauled out Hog Pen Manure & scattered it.
Mr Bryan here in Ev.g. Dr & Mrs Taylor Hally & myself spent
the Evg at Sister Anns Maria still very unwell
Here throat and mouth very sore. Charley complaining.

Friday 7
Wind NE & N Clear after m.g. It snowed all last night
& very cold. Cut Wood. Sent Wagon to Mill. Hauled wood
Charley has a high fever & is quite sick. I fear it is Measels.

Saturday 8
Wind NW & W Clear. Making fence. Hauling wood
in Wagon. Dr & Mrs Taylor, Hally & I dined at Mr Bryan’s

Sunday 9
Wind SE Clear. Dr & Mrs Taylor went to Belle Farm, Hally
went home. We staied at home Maria & Charley very unwell

Monday 10
Wind SW Cloudy & rained in mg. Clear Ev.g. At last Ploughing for Corn
Hauled Rails. Hauled out & scattered Manure. Cut wood.
I went to C.H. & dined at Wilson’s Creek with Dr & Mrs Taylor, Dr Byrd
Major [Douthat?] &c &c.
