Friday 14th Wind SE Clear Throwing 2nd furrows with four ploughs Hilling Corn. Warner came in Ev.g. Nothing new.

Saturday 15 Wind SE. Clear & hot. Ploughing & Hilling Corn. I went to York Town to carry Richard & Charley No collisions heard of but one or two are obliged to occur in a fee days, at Harpers Ferry & Manassas. Col Crump of Powhatan came down to Gloster Point To,day to take charge of the Post vice Lt Col P R Page who is now second in command. Mr Curtis Coleman & Aug Robins of the “Home Guard” here to night patrolling.

Sunday 16 Wind SW. Clear in m.g. Two Thunder clouds in Ev.g. & a very good rain which was much needed. We staid at home.

Monday 17 Wind NE Cloudy cool & drizly. Throwing 2nd furrows and hilling Corn. Miss Templeman, Hogg & myself stood guard at Mouth of Severn River to arrest any Negoes who may attempt to escape to the Yankees One of John Perrin’s has gone and a good many from Mathews.
