Planted Potatoes in Garden. The Yankees
have been to North [Rivr?] & Mathews in large
force. They robbed all on the Road. They took
all Jas Dabney’s Horses & stock of evry description
and a good many of his negroes, all [Jos?] Taliafinos
negroes & horses & burned his barn, [W?] T Taliafinos
Horses & Carriages & burnt his barn, Genl Taliafinos
Horses &c, Mr Mann negroes, They also
burnt J Dabneys, Stuarts & other Mills, took
2 of Seldens’ Horses & Templeman’s [?] Sinclair’s
& Mr Clarke’s horses, Took Stephen Field’s
[Match?], Pocket Book & Bacon & Buggy & horse
in fact I learn they took any thing they could
carry & destroyed what they could not carry
