I went to Ct House. Mr Smuglers Brownley & Misick with goods came here in Evg

Wind W. Clear after the morning. Mauled Rails Hauled
wood. Jef Sinclair here in mg to buy the Smuglers goods.
Friday 30
Wind W Clear Mauling Rails. Scattering Manure
Raking Woods litter. Sent William to Stubbs Mill with 20 Bus Wheat
Maria & daughter went to White Marsh & Wilson’s Creek
A Capt Crenean is at Wilson’s Creek

Wind W Clear Mauling Rails. Hauling woods litter to Farm Pen
Raking woods litter. I went to Ct house. Nothing of importance
in the Papers.

Wind SW Clear. We staid at home.
Monday 2
Wind N Cloudy in Morning Clear afterwards
Hauling out & scattering Stable Manure. Mauling Rails.
Court day. I went to Ct House. The Yankees are taking Peoples
Negroes away by force around Gloster Point. They took Mrs Taylor’s
Man Lawson accusing him of being a spy. I heard that two
of our “Iron Clad” steamers from Charleston had captured two of the
Yankee Blockading Fleet at that harbor and driven off the balance.

Wind N Snowed till 2 O clock then clear Very cold
Hands did nothing but cut a little wood.
Wednesday 4
Wind NW Clear & [very cold][underlined] Got some wood. A Mr White
& Mr Charles came in Evg came in Evg went over the River to get a Boat
to carry them a cross York River. They did not succeed & returned here.
Thursday 5
Wind E Snowed hard till 12 o.clk & Rained the rest of the day.
Shelled Corn. Mr White & Mr Charles here & a Mr Causey came in Evg.
Friday 6
Wind W cloudy Rained till 3 o.clock. Fanned out Wheat
Mr White & the other two men went over the River on their way to York county

Wind E Clear. Hauled Logs in [Carry?] log. Mauled Rails
Raked Sea Ore. I went to Ct house. Sold Mr Hopkins 444 [bs?]
Bro Flour @ 4c. Got of him a pr of Brown Cotton Shirting.
Let Mr Davis have the 477 bs Flour due by Mr Curtis to [Ewd?] Philips

& Mary Booth here. Miss Collier went from here to Back River with
Mr Hopkins & Mr Hurst & Mr Forrest soldiers on furlough came here at night on Their way
to see their families in York County
