The President will find enclosed two papers that are now exciting attention and will yet attract still more consideration from the public. Their authorship is, for the present, a [Secesh?], but in respect to yourself, I [deal?] [frankly?]. It is time the truth was told that the Country may be saved. The Startling facts contained in the National Intelligencer of this morning, with regard to the condition of Suffering of the millions of People in the South, to say nothing of the [advancing?] [disbelief?] among other millions of the North, While nothing effective is being done to relieve the situation on either hand. Will soon demand a much

[fuller?] [expense?] & it will be made. A [general?] condition of anarchy threatens to Convulse the Nation at no very distant day. It is a happy moment, nevertheless, for the Chief Magistrate as the [Wishes?] of the People, to [?] in behalf of the people.
