Summary

Description: The Great Hall of the Wren Building featuring a bust of Thomas Jefferson over the west door. SEVRES NATIONAL MANUFACTURE after JEAN-ANTOINE HOUDON [1741 - 1828]. The back of the bust reads: "S" above "SEVRES" plus 3 indistinct lines and initials "E.R." / inside pedestal base, incised: "(?) A.G. 9.33 PN". Gift from the people of France to Virginia as part of the 1949 “Merci Train”. Source: Muscarelli Museum, llege of William and Mary
