DuPont Hall is located om New Campus at intersection of Ukrop Way and Wake Drive. Construction began in 1963 and in 1964 the Board of Visitors decided to name the building for Jessie Ball DuPont. The official dedication ceremony for the dormitory was held on May 8, 1966. The dormitory began to house freshman men in 1976. Today, the building serves as a co-ed dormitory for freshman undergraduates.
