The Commons, often referred to as "The Caf" by students, is a large dining hall located on Ukrop Way (formerly Campus Drive), across from the Randolph Complex. Hubert L. Jones was the architect in charge of designing the dining facility, which began construction in 1965. It was open for use in September, 1967.

The dining facility underwent a large-scale renovation during the 2004-2005 school year, causing the Collge of William and Mary to temporarily pitch a humongous tent on Yates Field so that students could still eat Caf food during renovations.
