Faculty Hearing Committee
The Faculty Hearing Committee is a standing committee of six members and six alternates; two members are elected from the Faculty of Arts and Sciences, one each from the Schools of Business, Education, and Law, and the Virginia Institute of Marine Science, which includes the School of Marine Science. Each faculty or school provides for means of selection and for alternates. The Faculty Hearing Committee is charged with hearing evidence and argument in contested cases involving faculty dismissal, severe sanction, and non-reappointment appeals on grounds of discrimination or violation of academic freedom, and with hearing grievance petitions.

|A Note About The Contents Of This Wiki|
|The information available in this wiki is the best available from known documents and sources at the time it was written. Unfortunately, many of the early original records of William & Mary were destroyed by fires, military occupation, and the normal effects of time. Information in this wiki is not complete as new information continues to be uncovered in Swem Library's Special Collections Research Center and elsewhere. Researchers are strongly encouraged to use the Special Collections search tools for their research as the information contained in this wiki is by no means comprehensive.|
