Camp 11th Me [?] Feb 20th 1865

Dear Sister

I recieved your letter of the
12th with much pleasure. I came
off gard this morning and did not
sllep anny last night so you must
excuse all mistakes. i was glad to here
that you was well as useual.
I am well as useual. I expect we shall
have marchen orders before long. [Asa?] just
came in to our shanty and sayes that
that we have marchen orders but it
may not be so. I suppose you have
hurd about [?] is going to get
married but I dont believe it.
I went went 3 dayes ago to see
a deserter shot it loks hard
there was 2 more hung that tried
to desert and rob and murder
they wer hung within 200 yard

of camp they was from
the 10th [Comnd?]. I had a letter
from [?] yesterday they are all
well as useual except aunt
[Hilty?] She was rather slim
[...ther?] said that he had
not herd from you for 2 [weeks?]
I expect that we shall have
some hard fiting this
summer I expect. I want
you to think of your brothers [?]
in your prairs, we dont have
much to eat and no whiskey
to drink. Give my best
[respects?] to Mr and Mrs W and
any love to the children you must
kiss the baby for me once in a
while. I have not [teen?] a babe
since I [?] into the [?]
except a black one and you know
I dont like niggers verry well
you know, except my love
and best wishes as I can think of
no more to write
