Edward E. Brickell was a member of the Board of Visitors from 1976 to 1984 and was Rector of the Board of Visitors from 1978 to 1982. He was Grand Marshall of the Homecoming Parade in 1980. He was also president of the Eastern Virginia Medical School. He is currently an adjunct professor of English at Virginia Wesleyan University.
